About Us

Our Family

Hendrix Family Farms is a locally owned and family operated business. Bryan is a Firefighter and Jenni is a Respiratory Therapist, both have been around agriculture most of their lives and in the last 10 years have been building their dream of being first generation farmers and having the next generation follow suit. Our youngest son, Case, can be found at the farm as well. Case graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Beef Production and works as a Livestock Inspector for Texas Animal Health Commission. He manages many aspects of the farm from breeding to nutrition. Our family has chosen full time careers in service industries because we truly want to help people, and we believe agriculture is another avenue for us to help others.

Our livestock guardians, Bonnie and Clyde are not only family pets they are also vital members on our farm, they take their jobs very serious keeping the cattle and chickens safe. Clyde is the “bark” of the operation and keeps predators away. And, Bonnie can be found in the evenings walking through the pasture checking on the cattle to ensure everyone is safe.

Our Farm

A couple of things that set our farm apart from others is our strong shorthorn influence in our herd, they are known for being docile and efficient. Shorthorn crosses are also known to produce high quality beef with increased marbling and tenderness.

Our cattle spend their entire life on all natural pasture. The last 90 days before processing, most animals are hand fed a custom mixed all natural feed while still in the pasture. We occasionally offer grass finishing as well.

Chicken and eggs. While beef has been the backbone of our family farm, we have had a long time flock of laying hens. Our hens roam free during the day to eat a natural foraging diet, and they are put in at night for protection from predators. We also offer pasture raised chicken. These meat birds spend all their time on the same natural pasture as the cattle. They are kept in a large enclosure for their protection, and moved to fresh grass daily.

Why Buy Local?

We offer a local alternative to chain grocery stores. We take farming to your front door. By being proper stewards of the land and livestock, we produce affordable, nutritious and delicious beef. We believe you should trust the food you feed your family. Your farmer is the person who grows and cares for the food you eat. When you know your farmer, you know how your food is grown and where it comes from. We welcome questions about the process and products we provide. Also, supporting your local farmer will strengthen your local economy and revitalize your community. Buying local cuts down on transportation and storage costs. Also, when you buy from an independent, locally owned business, significantly more of your money is used to make purchases from other local businesses — continuing to strengthen the economic base of the community.
